Our Work
Legislative Advocacy
The committee actively monitors, supports, or opposes legislation that impacts the Latino community, with particular attention to issues such as civil rights, immigration, access to justice, and diversity in the legal profession.
Collaboration
By engaging with other organizations, coalitions, and advocacy groups, the committee strengthens its impact and advances common legislative goals through partnership and coordination.
Education and Awareness
Through briefings, discussions, and public statements, the committee helps keep Los Abogados members and the broader community informed about legislative developments and opportunities for advocacy.
Get Involved
Legislative advocacy is a collective effort, and the success of the committee’s work depends on the involvement and support of Los Abogados members. There are several ways to contribute:
Stay Informed: Sign up for updates on legislative issues and actions. Being informed is the first step toward effective advocacy.
Advocacy Actions: Participate in advocacy days, letter-writing campaigns, and other efforts directed at legislators to help make our voices heard.
Expertise Sharing: If you have expertise in a particular area of law or policy, your insight can help shape the committee’s strategies, recommendations, and submissions.
