About Us:

The Civil Rights Committee of Los Abogados aims to advocate for the rights and justice of the Latino community in Arizona. Our commitment lies in identifying and addressing civil rights violations and conflicts, ensuring that justice and equity are accessible to all, especially the underrepresented in our communities. Since our inception, we have been dedicated to closing the access-to-justice gap for underserved communities, responding proactively to the legal needs of the Latino community across a range of critical areas.

Our Work:

  • Legal Education: We organize Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars on vital topics such as voting rights, civic engagement, racial profiling, and other pivotal civil rights issues, equipping legal professionals with the knowledge to better serve our community.
  • Citizenship Fairs: In our efforts to assist immigrants in navigating the path to U.S. citizenship, we have hosted citizenship fairs that provide essential guidance in the application process.

Achievements:

Through our persistent efforts and strategic partnerships, we have made significant strides in advancing civil rights and access to justice for the Latino community. Our initiatives have not only provided direct assistance to individuals in need but have also raised awareness and fostered a broader understanding of civil rights issues within the legal profession and the community at large.
