The Historical Committee is dedicated to safeguarding the rich history of Los Abogados, ensuring that the legacy and achievements of our organization and its members are recorded, celebrated, and shared. Our mission encompasses not only the preservation of past accomplishments but also the education of current and future members about the pivotal role Los Abogados has played in advocating for the Latino community within the legal profession and beyond.
Our Work:
- Archiving: Collect and maintain important documents, photographs, and artifacts that chronicle the history of Los Abogados. This includes the organization's founding, landmark cases, significant events, and profiles of key members.
- Oral Histories: Conduct and record interviews with past and present members of Los Abogados, capturing personal stories and insights that contribute to a richer understanding of the organization's impact.
- Educational Initiatives: Develop resources, such as exhibits, publications, and presentations, to inform and engage members and the public about the history and contributions of Los Abogados.
- Annual Review: Compile an annual report highlighting the year's achievements, activities, and milestones, ensuring the ongoing history of Los Abogados is captured for future generations.
